Vacations Are Good For You - Regenerative Medicine in Springfield Missouri

Vacations Are Regenerative Medicine

If you’ve been holding off on booking your next vacation because you’re worried you can’t afford it, here’s something to keep in mind. Taking a break and recharging your batteries isn’t just a personal indulgence. There is medical evidence that taking a vacation is good for your health.

A Framingham Heart Study looked at women over the course of 20 years. While controlling obesity, diabetes, smoking, and income, the study found that women “who took a vacation every six years or less were almost eight times more likely to develop coronary heart disease or have a heart attack than those who took at least two vacations a year.”

Similar findings were found later in a group of 20,000 men that showed that those who didn’t take an annual vacation were 32% more likely to die of a heart attack.

It’s true. The everyday grind of waking up, working, going home, doing chores, making dinner, and going to sleep to start the process all over again isn’t easy. We need a vacation. More importantly, we need to write a giant permission slip that says it’s okay to pause.

Adrenal fatigue is a stress-related condition that results in symptoms like exhaustion, weakened immunity, sleep disturbance, and food cravings. The adrenal glands and HPA axis become depleted and dysregulated after a long period of emotional stress or chronic illness.

Feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, and burnt out in our hyper-connected world is real. While supplements, herbs, and nutrition all are an important part of your health, the best regenerative medicine in Springfield Missouri is taking some time off to sharpen the saw and recharge your batteries. Our lifestyles must be changed. Taking time off, often, is one of the more challenging recommendations in our world. But nevertheless, the real cure is rest. Daring to choose sanity and stability in a world that applauds hustle is a genuine choice of health and wellness.

Take a radical pause in the name of health. Put the phone down. Spend a few extra moments between the sheets before getting out of bed in the morning. Linger at the dinner table with your loved ones. Take a run to clear your mind. Connect with people. Take that vacation. Rest, rekindle, and restore. Your health, longevity, and wellness are depending on it.
